An orally effective SOD-wheat gliadin mixture is able to protect against DNA damage, which coincided with reduced blood isoprostane levels, and may therefore be used as an antioxidant.

These results suggest that exhausting exercise is responsible for a significant increase in blood TAS, SOD, GR and Lac and a 4-week administration of the newly developed oral SOD induces a significant change in oxidative status and a significant decrease in exercise-induced lactate release.

In this study, we have shown that this combination also primed and polarized the mouse Th1/Th2 immune response by affecting: (a) the production of IFN-γ and IL-4 cytokines from primed spleen cells after stimulation with Con-A and (b) the isotypes of antibody response (IgG, IgE and IgA).
